The Dromara Road project presented a formidable challenge for our small team. Situated on the outskirts of Hillsborough, the existing detached family house had undergone several, albeit poorly executed, extensions over the decades. The client's challenge lay in transforming this unique dwelling, complete with two staircases leading to a disjointed first floor and lacking a full family bathroom upstairs, into a modern family home – all within a very tight budget.
Exploring numerous possibilities, including extensions and new corridors, ultimately too expensive... led us to propose an unconventional solution. The key lay in maximizing existing space creatively. Thus, we set our sights on the roof space above the current garage, envisioning its transformation into a new, generously proportioned ensuite bathroom. This space would be seamlessly accessed through the now master bedroom, offering both functionality and a touch of innovation.
The Dromara Road project, born out of necessity, exemplifies our commitment to finding unique solutions for modern living.
